Scoping is a critical phase of a web development project and vital to ensure that the completed site meets the current and future needs of a client. Pixel Light’s scoping methodology considers all aspects of the site’s future needs, including its functional, commercial, design, technical and marketing requirements.
Wireframes are used to develop a site’s navigation, functionality and user interface independent of its design. This forms a vital step in the design process, and ensures that how the site functions receives the same level of importance as how the site looks.
Designs are developed based on the initial scoping phases and wireframes. Pixel Light utilises an iterative design process in which designs are presented to the client for feedback, and the amended and represented. This process provides the client with an opportunity to provide feedback on each iteration of the design, and to share the designs with internal stakeholders as required.
Pixel Light works with clients to develop the IA (sitemap) for each new website. The IA is designed to showcase the organisation and its products, provide intuitive navigation, and to maximise organic search benefits.
Content Management System (CMS)
Pixel Light has expertise across a variety of CMS’, giving us the flexibility to recommend the platform that best meets a client’s needs. We work regularly with open source platforms such as WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal, and enterprise levels systems like Sitecore and Alterian.
Pixel Light continues to work with clients post launch, providing ongoing website optimisation and digital marketing services. In this way, we can continue to improve the site’s performance and maximise returns for our clients.
Data plays a key role in our approach to website optimisation.
We use A/B split testing to expose multiple homepage designs to the market and let the performance of each design contribute to the optimisation process. In this way, we are able to see how real website users respond to different designs and the placement of key functionality.
